Organisation of Working Time Act 1997
This Act and subsequent Regulations govern the working hours of employees aged 18 years and over. This section deals with all aspects of working time, break periods and minimum rest requirements in the workplace. This Act also deals with annual leave and public holiday entitlements, which are addressed in annual leave.

Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act 1996
This Act regulates the employment of children (aged 14 and 15 years) and young people (aged 16 and 17 years). The working time restrictions and duties of employers are outlined.
Protection of Employees (Part-Time Work) Act 2001
This legislation provides that part-time employees must not be treated in respect of their remuneration and conditions of employment in a less favourable manner than their comparable full-time employees solely on the basis of their part-time status.
